Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific Air accepted its 14th Airbus A321neo aircraft on Thursday, March 21, 2024.
The newest Airbus A321-271NX, registered RP-C4142, represents the third aircraft delivery for the airline this year as it moves to add more modern new engine option (NEO) aircraft ordered from the European planemaker.
RP-C4142 arrived in Manila from Hamburg, Germany, with a technical stop-over at Muscat, Oman. The aircraft landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 9:04 PM, with its journey powered by sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
We take pride in adding more SAF-powered aircraft into our growing fleet. This aircraft delivery represents the strides we are taking towards minimizing our carbon footprint and promoting sustainability in the aviation sector.
Alex Reyes, Cebu Pacific’s Chief Strategy Officer
Cebu Pacific has been utilizing SAF since September 2022, when it operated its first passenger flight using this eco-friendly fuel. Since then, the airline has powered multiple flights with SAF, particularly on routes from Tokyo and Singapore.
By the end of 2024, Cebu Pacific aims to operate 91 aircraft, including the anticipated addition of two ATR 72-600 turboprops, two Airbus A330neo aircraft, and 11 more Airbus A320neo family aircraft.
