On February 9th, 2024, the Philippine Air Force (PAF) conducted humanitarian relief operations in the Davao Region, which recently suffered from landslides and severe flooding.
With air assets from the 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing and the 505th Search and Rescue Group, the PAF’s Tactical Operations Group 11 and Tactical Operations Wing Eastern Mindanao worked together with Joint Task Force Agila to bring relief efforts to remote areas.
The landslides and floods had made these areas inaccessible by ground transportation.
The success of the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operation was aided by extensive cooperation between several organizations.
In a Facebook post, the Tactical Operations Group 11 stated:
The mission was an outcome of close collaboration with the national and local agencies, and other AFP units.
Recently, the PAF airlifted landslide victims in Davao de Oro via its Bell UH-1H and Sikorsky S-76A helicopters on Wednesday, February 7th. Through these air assets, the Air Force successfully evacuated three individuals.
