Emirates is set to enhance its services to Osaka, Japan, by deploying its A380 superjumbo aircraft on the route starting June 1, 2024. This upgrade will bring increased capacity, a new Premium Economy cabin, and refreshed interiors across all classes.

The A380 will replace the current Boeing 777-300ER, offering 910 additional weekly seats on the Dubai-Osaka route. This increased capacity caters to the growing demand for travel between the two cities and provides more connection options to popular destinations beyond Dubai.

The most notable addition is the Premium Economy cabin, featuring 56 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration. This class offers passengers more space and comfort compared to Economy, with features like wider seats, increased legroom, and dedicated amenities.

Emirates has also refreshed the interiors of the First, Business, and Economy Class cabins on the A380. Passengers can expect a modern, comfortable environment with improved seating, lighting, and entertainment systems.

Passengers in First and Business Class can enjoy exclusive amenities such as access to the onboard lounge and shower spa. They also benefit from Emirates’ award-winning hospitality and a menu featuring globally sourced ingredients.

The Premium Economy cabin launched in December 2023 on the Dubai-Narita route and has been well-received by customers. Emirates has since expanded the offering to 14 other destinations, including Osaka.

The A380 deployment to Osaka reflects Emirates’ commitment to the Japanese market. The airline expects increased tourism in the Kansai region due to attractions like Osaka and Kyoto and upcoming events like the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo.

Emirates offers convenient connectivity to Japan through its scheduled operations to the country’s three largest international hubs: Tokyo Narita, Tokyo Haneda, and Osaka Kansai. The airline also provides complimentary chauffeur service for First and Business Class passengers in Tokyo Haneda and a shuttle bus service for Economy Class passengers from Haneda to major train stations.

Flight EK-316 is scheduled to depart from Dubai at 3:00 AM (UTC+4) and is set to arrive in Osaka at 5:15 PM (UTC+9). The return flight, EK-317, is scheduled to depart from Osaka at 11:45 PM and arrive back in Dubai at 4:50 AM the following day.
