Clark International Airport wins prestigious Routes Asia award

173

Clark International Airport (CRK) has been awarded the prestigious Under 5 Million Passengers category at Routes Asia 2024 in Langkawi, Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in the airport’s history.

The award recognizes CRK’s excellence in route development marketing, a testament to its commitment to enhancing connectivity and fostering positive trends in the broader aviation sector.

In 2023, the airport demonstrated significant growth by efficiently handling nearly 2 million passengers, a remarkable 160% increase from the preceding 12 months.

Key to CRK’s success was the onboarding of five new airlines, four of which are international carriers, and the addition of 13 new destinations to its network.

Noel Manankil, Chief Executive Officer and President of Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corp. (LIPAD), the operator of CRK, expressed his delight at the recognition.

This achievement reflects the hard work and resilience of our entire team as we continue to contribute to the positive trajectory of Clark International Airport.

CRK’s new terminal, inaugurated in May 2022, can handle 8 million passengers, further enhancing its capacity to connect the Philippines to the global aviation network.

The airport, which serves as the gateway to Central and Northern Luzon, competed against notable contenders including Cairns Airport, Australia; GMR Goa International Airport, India; Hat Yai International Airport, Thailand; and Sendai International Airport, Japan.
