AirAsia Philippines emerged as a double winner at the recent Philippine Travel Agencies Association, Inc. (PTAA) Travel Tour Expo, taking home the “Booth With Best Deals” award and experiencing a 14% increase in ticket sales compared to 2023.

The low-cost airline was recognized for offering the lowest fares and baggage fees at the expo, including 10% discounts on all flights, 20% off baggage, and its special “2.2 Love Takes Flight” promotion with PHP22 one-way base fares.

AirAsia Philippines Chief Executive Officer Ricky Isla shared:

AirAsia is always known for prioritizing the travel needs of its guests. As an airline that democratized and pioneered low-cost travel, we will continue to innovate our ecosystem and provide our guests with the best offerings along with our guarantee of a safe and on-time journey. Recognitions such as this make us more passionate about our product and how it will make an impact on our guests.

The airline surpassed its sales target thanks to a surge in international bookings on the first day of the expo, followed by a mix of domestic and international bookings over the weekend. Early bird booking rates and a low February fuel surcharge (Level 5) also contributed to the strong sales performance.

Popular island destinations like Caticlan, Bohol, and Puerto Princesa, as well as trendy holiday spots like Osaka, Narita, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Bangkok, were the top choices among expo attendees, according to AirAsia.

Isla added:

The booking behavior of our guests only suggests that they are preparing for their summer vacations. We are also happy to see them spend time visiting our booth to physically purchase their tickets and scrutinize each deal, which is also smart traveling.

AirAsia Philippines is gearing up for its summer campaign “LFG” and its first major sale of the year, both happening in February.
