AirAsia Philippines prepares for summer travel surge

210

As the summer season approaches, low-cost carrier AirAsia Philippines is preparing for a significant increase in travelers.

The airline has already seen over 700,000 bookings for travel between March and May, both for domestic and international destinations, and expects this figure to rise as summer draws closer.

With the summer period officially starting March 1st, AirAsia expects a surge in travel bookings.

AirAsia Head of Communications and Public Affairs and First Officer Steve Dailisan said:

We know how much Filipinos anticipate this time of the year to explore beaches, enjoy gastronomic adventures and spend quality time with family and loved ones. They can always count on AirAsia to provide the best deals, along with safe, convenient  and hassle free travel,  especially for first time travelers.

To ensure a smooth travel experience, AirAsia Philippines is sharing some tips for travelers:

  • Prepare Essential Travel Documents. Travelers are reminded to secure all necessary documents such as passports, visas, hotel reservations, and other supporting documents if traveling abroad. For those traveling within the country, at least one valid government ID is required for proper identification at AirAsia check-in counters.
  • Avoid the Traffic and Arrive Early. Guests are advised to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior to their scheduled departure for domestic flights, and 4 hours for international flights.
  • Take Advantage of Online Check-in Platforms. AirAsia encourages guests to check-in via their online platforms, which also allow them to purchase add-ons such as inflight meals, baggage allowances, and hot seats at a discounted rate.
  • Book Your Flights Early. Booking flights early not only gives travelers more time to plan their trip, but also provides savings as flights booked earlier are generally cheaper than booking closer to the travel date.

AirAsia Philippines is currently offering a PHP 33 one-way base fare for flights booked until March 3rd, which can be used for travel until October 16th, 2024 to domestic destinations such as Caticlan, Puerto Princesa, Bohol, and international destinations like Bangkok, Taipei, Seoul, and Tokyo.
