PAL flight to Tokyo delayed due to Haneda Airport closure

Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight PR-424 from Manila to Tokyo Haneda has been delayed indefinitely due to a runway closure at Haneda Airport following a serious incident.

Earlier today, a Japan Airlines Airbus A350 collided with a Japan Coast Guard DHC-8-315Q MPA aircraft on Runway 34R at Haneda Airport. The A350, originating from Sapporo, was landing when it hit the Coast Guard plane, which was taxiing on the runway.

Haneda Airport is currently closed as emergency personnel respond to the incident and investigate the cause of the collision. This has resulted in the suspension of all incoming and outgoing flights, including PAL flight PR-424.

“Passenger boarding of PAL flight PR424 has been put on hold until further notice,” PAL said in a statement. “We are closely monitoring the situation and will update our passengers as soon as we have more information.”

The airline originally estimated a departure time of 7:05 PM from Manila, but passengers are now advised to expect significant delays.

“This is a developing situation and we understand the inconvenience it may cause,” PAL added. “We appreciate the patience and understanding of our passengers on PR424.”

Passengers affected by the delay are advised to contact PAL for the latest updates and rebooking options.
