Marking a significant step in its focus on premium travel experiences, the oneworld airline alliance has opened its first-ever dedicated lounge at Incheon International Airport in Seoul. This milestone coincides with the alliance’s 25th anniversary celebration later this year.

The new lounge, situated in Terminal 1, boasts a contemporary design and comfortable seating for up to 148 passengers. It’s conveniently located within a 10-minute walk from the furthest oneworld departure gates, offering a relaxing haven before flights.

“With oneworld celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2024, we are incredibly proud to be opening the very first oneworld branded lounge experience for our member airlines’ customers,” said Gerhard Girkinger, oneworld Vice President, Customer Experience, Delivery and Membership.

He added, “The new oneworld lounge is an exciting next step in our vision to making travel bright. Together with ASPIRE, we have combined refined fixtures and finishes, digital technologies, and warm and ergonomic settings to create smart and memorable travel experiences.”

The lounge caters to passengers flying First or Business Class with any oneworld member airline, as well as Cathay Diamond and Gold members, and oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members. Cathay Silver members travelling on Cathay Pacific flights also have access.

Commenting on the launch, Cathay Pacific Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau said, “We are very excited to see oneworld’s first fully branded lounge launched at Incheon International Airport. For Cathay Pacific, it is meaningful to see this first alliance lounge opened in Korea, a market that has always been very important to us.”

She continued, “With the opening of this fantastic new lounge, we are sure that the whole customer experience provided by oneworld will be elevated as it allows our customers and members to really relax and enjoy themselves in such a comfortable, colourful, and vibrant environment before taking their flights on any of the oneworld airlines.”

The lounge is open daily from 7:30am to 11:45pm, with specific access requirements for different membership tiers. Passengers can find the latest opening hours and information on the oneworld website.

This dedicated lounge marks a significant development for oneworld, showcasing its commitment to providing premium travel experiences for its customers. With plans to open similar lounges in select airports around the world, oneworld is poised to further enhance its position as a leading airline alliance.
