A Robinson R44 helicopter (RP-C189) belonging to the Philippine Adventist Medical Aviation Services (PAMAS) made an emergency landing in Sitio Babahagon, Lantapan, Bukidnon yesterday, July 27, 2023.

According to a media advisory from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), all four individuals on board, including the pilot, survived the incident with no serious injuries reported.

The Laguindingan Airport Tower confirmed the incident and disclosed that PAMAS had not filed a flight plan for this particular operation.

An official statement from PAMAS shed some light on the situation, stating that the helicopter experienced a loss of power while flying at an altitude of approximately 3,000 feet. Consequently, the pilot made the crucial decision to perform an emergency landing to avoid any potential hazards.

Following the incident, one of the passengers was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation, as a precautionary measure. The quick response by emergency services ensured that the injured individual received prompt medical attention.

In light of this emergency landing, the Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board (AAIIB) has taken charge of the investigation. Chief Mr. Reineer Baculinao stated that they have already reached out to PAMAS and are working diligently to uncover the root causes of the accident.
