A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registered as EI-DHH, experienced a nose gear failure while operating flight FR-5542 from Liverpool to Dublin. The incident happened on Sunday at around 5:30 pm local time at Dublin Airport’s runway 28L.

According to The Aviation Herald, the aircraft briefly veered off the runway but was able to return to the centerline before attempting to leave the runway via a rapid exit taxiway located approximately 1700 meters or 5600 feet down the runway. However, the aircraft came to a stop on the runway, prompting Air Traffic Control to instruct the next arrival to go around.

The flight had 172 passengers and crew members, and no injuries were reported. However, Dublin Airport tweeted that one person was being treated for shock.

As a result of the incident, the South Runway at Dublin Airport remained closed for the evening. Four flights, including an Aer Lingus flight from Paris and Santiago, and two Ryanair flights from Lanzarote and Malaga, were diverted to Shannon Airport.

Ryanair confirmed in a statement that the flight experienced a minor technical issue with its nose landing gear upon landing. The aircraft was towed back to the hangar for further inspection by Ryanair engineers.

Dublin Airport authorities issued an apology for any inconvenience caused and thanked passengers for their patience while they dealt with the situation.
