Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to reopen direct flights between Manila and Guangzhou (Canton) on January 14, 2023.

PAL will operate an initial once weekly flight every Saturday to Guangzhou’s Baiyun International Airport.

“We are connecting to the world’s second largest economy and enhancing friendly ties between China and the Philippines,” said PAL Vice President for Network Planning Christoph Gaertner.

The flights to and from Guangzhou will depart early in the morning, with PR 382 departing Manila at 03:35 AM and arriving in Guangzhou at 06:10 AM. PR 383 will depart Guangzhou at 08:40 AM and arrive in Manila at 11:10 AM, with adjusted timings starting January 28, 2023.

As part of a gradual restoration of services to Mainland China, PAL will also resume flying between Manila and Xiamen with one flight per week, starting January 13, 2023.

The airline is working closely with Chinese and Philippine health and aviation authorities to ensure the highest level of health safety protections for travelers.

PAL will deploy the Airbus A330-300 and Airbus A321ceo fleet for the Manila-Guangzhou service.

Prior to the pandemic, the flag carrier served mainland Chinese cities of Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Quanzhou (Jinjiang) and Xiamen for a total of 34 weekly flights.

For bookings, travelers may visit the PAL website at www.philippineairlines.com, the PAL mobile app, or call their hotline at (02) 8855 8888. They can also reach out to their preferred travel agents.
