AirAsia Philippines ends 2022 with strong load factor

AirAsia Philippines reported that the low-cost airline recorded high load factors in both domestic and international routes as 2022 comes to a close, showing a strong rebound following COVID-19.

In a press release, AirAsia stated that by the end of December 2022, the airline anticipates a positive load factor of 80% for international flights and 90% for domestic flights.

According to the airline, Manila-Caticlan, Manila-Cebu, Manila-Bangkok, and Manila-Incheon routes were one of the best performing in terms of load factor.

Since the pandemic, November 2022 saw the most passengers flown on the low-cost carrier. In 2023, AirAsia anticipates operating at pre-pandemic levels, with more aircraft and flights being reactivated.

AirAsia Philippines Chief Executive Officer Ricky Isla shares: “We are determined to support the travel demand this holiday season going into 2023 with the attainable fares and world-class service our company is known for globally. We are thankful for the trust and confidence invested in us by our guests, which enabled us to end 2022 as the strongest we’ve been in the past two years.”

AirAsia Philippines also launched its 12.12 Holideals, featuring one-way base fare tickets from as low as PHP 112 for domestic flights and PHP 412 for international. 

The sale, which runs until December 18, covers travel until June 30, 2023, and includes flights to Bacolod, Kalibo, Cagayan de Oro, and Tokyo, which is set to be inaugurated in February next year.
