Weeks before the inauguration of Cebu-Baguio commercial flights, Philippine Airlines executed a test flight in Baguio City with success.
“This successful test flight is the culmination of months of preparation among all industry stakeholders to make the return to Baguio by the flag carrier a reality,” said PAL Spokesperson Cielo Villaluna.
An 86-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400, which will be the same aircraft to be used on future flights to Baguio, performed the test flight on Monday morning.
RP-C5903 left Manila at 10:39 AM and landed in Baguio at 11:30 AM. Before lining up for arrival, the aircraft flew past the center and the surrounding mountainous landscape.
In command of the flight were Captain Anthony Larena, Captain Vincent Almeda, and cabin crew team members Dawn Andrade, Sharon Francisco and Michelle Mariano.
The national flag carrier is set to begin four-weekly flights between Cebu and Baguio on December 16, 2022.
