The Philippine Air Force (PAF) formally received a Hawker 800XP as a donation from the San Miguel Corporation (SMC) on Thursday, May 5, 2022.

The Formal Acceptance, Turn-over and Blessing Ceremony was held at the Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, with Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and SMC President, CEO, and COO Ramon Ang gracing the event.

SMC officially donated the aircraft to the DND. The defense department then transferred the asset to the PAF and will serve as a Command and Control aircraft, operating in tandem with the recently procured Gulfstream G280 (1251).

The conglomerate, now one of the largest in the Philippines, originally acquired the business jet in 2002 as RP-C8576. The said aircraft has been used several times as “Kalayaan One,” a special callsign reserved when the Philippine President is aboard.

The Hawker 800XP will be re-registered as 1252 and serve under the 250th Presidential Airlift Wing.
