Qatar Airways to launch flights to Kano and Port Harcourt in Nigeria

Qatar Airways will be increasing its services to Nigeria with the launch of flights to Kano (KAN) and Port Harcourt (PHC) in March of 2022.

On March 2nd, Qatar Airways will launch four weekly flights from Doha (DOH) to Kano, followed by three weekly flights to Port Harcourt beginning March 3rd. Both flights will operate via the Nigerian capital Abuja (ABV), which the airline currently serves four times weekly. 

With the launch of flights to Kano and Port Harcourt, flights to Abuja will increase to seven times weekly. All flights will be operated using the airline’s Boeing 787-8 aircraft with 22 seats in Business Class and 232 seats in Economy Class.

Kano (KAN): operates every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday

• Doha (DOH) to Abuja (ABV): QR1431 departs at 01:45, arrives at 07:20
• Abuja (ABV) to Kano (KAN): QR1431 departs at 08:50, arrives at 09:50
• Kano (KAN) to Abuja (ABV): QR1432 departs at 18:35, arrives at 19:35
• Abuja (ABV) to Doha (DOH): QR1432 departs at 21:05, arrives at 05:15 (+1)

Port Harcourt (PHC): operates every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday

• Doha (DOH) to Abuja (ABV): QR1433 departs at 01:45, arrives at 7:20
• Abuja (ABV) to Port Harcourt (PHC): QR 1433 departs at 08:50, arrives at 10:00
• Port Harcourt (PHC) to Abuja (ABV): QR 1434 departs at 18:25, arrives at 19:35
• Abuja (ABV) to Doha (DOH): QR 1434 departs at 21:05, arrives at 05:15 (+1)

He continued: “We anticipate good reciprocal demand between Port Harcourt, UK, USA and destinations across Asia. For Kano, we see the opportunity to grow traffic to and from markets such as KSA and India, as well as strong cargo prospects.”

Aside from its current services to Abuja, Qatar Airways also flies to Lagos — the largest city in Nigeria and in all of Africa — twice daily. With two new destinations in Nigeria added to its route network, Qatar Airways will serve Africa with 188 weekly flights to 28 destinations.
