Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific Air announced Thursday the introduction of direct flights between Manila and Camiguin beginning next month.

In a press release, Cebu Pacific said the Manila-Camiguin service will begin on November 15, 2021. Furthermore, the airline also plans to reintroduce its Cebu-Camiguin service on November 9, 2021.

The airline plans to operate twice weekly for both services to Camiguin. The Manila-Camiguin service will operate every Monday and Friday, while the Cebu-Camiguin service will operate every Tuesday and Saturday.

Cebu Pacific’s regional subsidiary, Cebgo, will operate both flights from Manila and Cebu to Camiguin aboard the ATR 72-600 fleet.

“We are very happy to launch these direct flights in time with the gradual reopening of domestic tourism. Camiguin is another underrated gem that we believe travelers will enjoy discovering. At the same time, these direct connections will enable residents to fly to and from Cebu and Manila conveniently, be it for leisure or business purposes,” said Xander Lao, Chief Commercial Officer at Cebu Pacific.

The low-cost airline is offering introductory rates for as low as Php88 base fare from October 27, 2021, until November 10, 2021. The travel period for the promo lasts until December 31, 2021.

Guests visiting Camiguin are required to register at cleancamiguinqr.com and upload necessary documents such as a filled-out health declaration form, along with proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination. Apart from this, travelers must also present a negative RT-PCR (swab) test result – taken at least 72 hours before departure if from Luzon; taken at least 48 hours before departure if from Visayas and Mindanao.

Tourists will also need to upload proof of confirmed booking from an LGU-accredited establishment or a clearance from the Municipal Health Officer of the municipality if staying in a private home. Once complete, tourists need to download their ID with a QR code and save a copy for presentation before the flight.

All tourists will also need to take an antigen test on their fifth day on the island.

Aside from Cebu Pacific, SkyJet Airlines and PAL Express have operated flights to Camiguin from Manila and Cebu, respectively.
