As it gears up to offer flights between North America and Asia via Alaska, Alaska-based startup airline Northern Pacific Airways announced it will purchase its first six aircraft.

According to the airline, it has reached a deal to purchase six Boeing 757-200s from leasing group AerSale to meet its initial fleet requirements. The first of the jets will be delivered immediately.

Powered by a pair of Rolls-Royce RB211 engines, the Boeing 757-200 can transport over 200 passengers with a range of 3915nm/~7250km.

“Northern Pacific is proud to introduce these powerful aircraft as the foundation of our fleet,” said Rob McKinney, Northern Pacific Airways’ Chief Executive Officer. “The Boeing 757-200 will help us achieve operational savings and efficiencies while offering our customers a rewarding travel experience.”

Northern Pacific Airways is part of Float Alaska group, which also includes Alaska-based regional carriers Ravn Alaska and FlyCoin. It plans to open low-cost flights to cities in the US and Asia, and offer connections between North America and Asia via Anchorage, Alaska. The airline plans to start flights by the summer of 2022.

Among the destinations the airline plans to serve include Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, and Orlando. Across the Pacific, the airline has stated it plans to fly to Tokyo and Seoul.
