Cathay Pacific has reported it welcomed four Airbus A321neos to its fleet.
The Hong Kong-based airline has taken the delivery of four A321neos, with another two to be delivered by the end of the year. The aircraft will have a capacity for 202 passengers with 12 business and 190 economy seats.
According to Cathay Pacific, it will conduct the inaugural flight using the A321neo on August 4. The flight will be from Hong Kong to Shanghai-Pudong. Following the inaugural flight, Cathay plans to deploy the aircraft on flights to Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Qingdao, Kaohsiung, and Taipei.
In a statement, Cathay Pacific CEO Augustus Tang said: “We’re incredibly excited to see our next-generation A321neo take to the skies for the first time next month as we continue to add more passenger services in the region. The single-aisle A321neo is the newest addition to our fleet and has been designed and fitted with an array of new features that offer the most enjoyable short-haul experience in the world to our customers. We look forward to deploying A321neos on more regional routes and welcoming customers on board.”
Regional Business Class, 4K TV Screens
According to Cathay Pacific, the new A321neos will feature a new Regional Business Class and 4K ultra-high definition screens on an aircraft.
Each business class seat on the new A321neos will feature a next-generation hard-shell recliner seat equipped with a 15.6-inch 4K Ultra-HD personal TV screen. Economy class travelers will have a 11.6-inch 4K personal TV screen.
Cathay Pacific will also progressively introduce high-speed Wi-Fi for passengers on the jets.
